Welcome to the Low Back Strength for Fitness Athletes class series! Over the course of 6 weeks, we're going to take you through progressive strength and mobility exercises to bulletproof your low back and restore full confidence in your lifts at the gym. The low back is one of the most commonly injured areas in CrossFit, but we want to change that! The low back CAN and SHOULD be specifically strengthened just like any other region of the body. If you have suffered from back pain in the past or cherry pick around certain workouts because you're nervous about hurting your back, this class series is for you!
The first session will start with testing for the low back, including strength and mobility to assess how your spine moves and determine it's current capacity.
Progressive strengthening of the muscles around your low back along with targeted mobility of your hips and spine.
Optimization of your deadlift technique so you can walk into any class or workout with 100% confidence.
This class series will be led by Dr. Matt Szymanski owner of Pack Performance PT, Physical Therapist and CrossFit Level 2 Trainer. With over a decade of CrossFit coaching experience AND having suffered from back pain that kept him out of the gym for months at a time, he knows what it takes to build a resilient low back. He combines the clinical knowledge of a Doctor of Physical Therapy along with his coaching experience to keep you training in the gym while you're recovering from an injury.

If you have to miss a week, there will be a follow-up email with all the exercises we did along with videos demoing each one. That way, by the end of the 6 weeks you have a fully built out progression along with a catalogue of reference videos for yourself.
